2021 Mueller "Russian River" Pinot Noir
Our 2021 "Russian River" Pinot Noir is produced from a careful selection of pinot noir Dijon clones grown near the banks of the Russian River. The vines are located on well-drained sites less than one mile from the river- the "middle reach" of the appellation. This area experiences the full impact of cooling fog which travels up the river banks. During fermentation we punch down the cap by hand several times each day to gently extract the grapes flavors and aromas. The wine is aged in French oak barrels, of which about 20% are new.
Bob's Notes:
This wine has a lovely ruby color and displays aromas of sweet red cherries, raspberry and toasted French oak. The flavors are full and rich, with cherry fruit and floral nuances being the dominating themes. It is medium bodied, with refreshing, tangy flavors and tannins, which are fine grained, soft and rich, with a finish that is long and flavorful. Its rich array of flavors and aromas will age gracefully and become more complex over the next several years, if you can wait that long!
