2019 Mueller Pinot Noir, "Emily's Cuvée", Russian River Valley

Our first production of “Emily’s Cuvée” pinot noir was created in 1994. The fruit arrived the same day that our daughter, Emily was born, however, there is some controversy over which came first! This blend was created to honor our wonderful daughter, Emily. Being a small producer, the Mueller brand is not recognized by everyone but it is usually our “Emily’s Cuvee” pinot noir, or “Emily’s” as it is also known, that brings us notoriety. This wine has been distributed locally, nationally and internationally for over twenty years.

Bob's Notes:

Each year I consistently taste our wines from barrels, generally when barrels are topped, evaluating them for aromatics, flavors and texture.  “Emily’s Cuvée” is a blend of our finest vineyards with precise percentages from each vineyard, obtained by extensive (and very enjoyable) blending trials. My goal with “Emily’s Cuvée” is to produce a wine that is very generous in fruity aromatics, rich in flavors yet with a gentle softness and fullness on the palate that makes the wine so immensely and immediately enjoyable.  The 2018 “Emily’s Cuvée” is a blend of several clones, notably 667, 2A, and 777.  Each clone is a special selection of Pinot Noir with slightly different and altogether pleasing characteristics of the variety.
