2018 Mueller Pinot Noir, "Eastside", RRV

$50.00

Bob's Notes:

The name “Eastside” is a special homage to our wonderful, very important winegrowers, the Ledbetter family.  We are celebrating this relationship that has taken us through thirty vintages together. We appreciate their professionalism and friendship that has been an integral component in the creation of our fine wines from the heart of the Russian River Valley.

Our 2018 “Eastside” Pinot Noir a blend of several vineyards on Eastside Road in the Russian River Valley. Using the Swiss “Wädenswil” clone  (also known as clone 2A in California) along with clones 777 and 115 from nearby vineyards close to the Russian River having major fog influence, a wine with cool climate influence is produced.  Each clone plays a different part in the blend, with 2A giving a trace of rose character and red fruit, 777 adds the darker fruit and 115 adds a trace of earthiness.

Pouring the wine, the aromas of plum, raspberry and rose petal arise from the glass along with blueberry, vanilla and a trace of earthiness.  On the palate,  “Eastside” is rich and flavorful, with blend of fruit, toasty oak and a touch of earth.  A refreshing and soft wine, ready for drinking now but with tremendous potential for aging to gain additional complexity for enjoyable drinking over the next 5-7 years.
